MDVA Milk Plant: MDVA Milk Plant – Laurel, MD
MDVA Milk Plant – Laurel, MD
JAX Cool worked with Kinsley Construction on a building addition to the Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association (MDVA) in Laurel, MD. JAX Cool was contracted for the installation of insulated metal panels that lined a 100-foot-high tower connected to the existing food production facility. The tower spanned roughly 2,000 square feet of floor area, though the project required 20,000 square feet of paneling to cover the walls and ceilings of the tall tower.
The panels for the MDVA construction were installed over a period of three months, from November 2016 – January 2017. JAX Cool was able to successfully overcome several installation challenges that arose from the project’s extreme height and tight working conditions both inside and outside the facility. JAX Cool showed fierce dedication to the project’s success, going above and beyond the original scope of work to ensure a smooth execution and on-schedule delivery of a high-quality project.
JAX Refrigeration took the lead in outsourcing equipment vendors for scaffolding, boom lifts and other materials handling equipment. This was a very critical component to the project’s success, as multiple trades ended up requiring the use of the scaffolding in the course of their work. JAX Cool was proactive in its approach to solving the height and space issues of the project, but also instrumental in coordinating with other trades to accommodate their own project needs.
