It’s an alarming issue, one most of us don’t think about happening right here in the U.S. But childhood hunger is an everyday reality for many American families.

Blessings in a Backpack (BIBS) is a 503c(3) non-profit dedicated to providing school children who are on the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program with food to take home on weekends during the school year. BIB is currently feeding over 89,000 children in over 1,100 schools in 47 states and Washington D.C.

In an effort to stir up awareness about this very serious issue, JAX Refrigeration teamed up with Blessings in a Backpack on February 1st at Allen D. Nease High School for their "Souper Bowl" to help ‘End the Hunger Zone.’

Taste buds were working overtime to celebrate this very special evening as supporters sampled a delectable line up of mouth savoring soups served up by more than 20 favorite local chefs. Hand crafted pottery bowls made by St. Johns County students were given to attendees.
